On May 6, 2018, Mercaptor Discoveries participated in our first Parkinson’s Moving Day, an annual fundraising walk event hosted by the Parkinson’s Foundation. Team Mercaptor Discoveries raised over $1,300 and walked three miles in solidarity with families, friends, and communities in the fight against Parkinson’s disease (PD). At the event, Team Mercaptor Discoveries had the opportunity to move to laughing yoga, boxing, and ballet, all proven to help manage the symptoms of PD. In addition, the team also learned about the current support groups, treatments, and care available to those living with PD. All donations directly fund free resources for PD patients—including educational books, toll-free helplines, and wellness classes, to name a few. Additionally, donations help fund community programs focused on providing education, support, research and exercise to PD patients. Now, let’s fight to end Parkinson’s disease.
